Hi,
By good money management and a good work ethic. It’s not really that hard if you aren’t spending your money on bad habits like booze and drugs. I find many many people covet what other people have, but fail to realize they could have it too if they’d change their spending habits, and had better work ethics.

the same way you afford anything. You earn enough to pay for it.

I just include the payment with all of my other bills.
If you do not earn enough income to live the life style you desire you need to increase your income.
There is no great secret to this.

A vacation home for you, might be a home for someone else. I have bought a number of properties and one way is to go online and open up FHA, VA, etc. foreclosures. You need to be aware of certain areas and search out if they might be in an area or zone that attracts leisure seeking buyers. I am presently working a contract in the upper Rocky Mountains of Colorado (temporarily). I discovered by accident a nice, quaint, little home that the owner was simply going to let get foreclosed. After a little discussion, we came to terms and I bought it for considerably less than it would normally cost. When you notice someone having a “Moving sale”. inquire about the property. That is how this sale came about. You can buy distressed properties. tax sales etc. for a bargain many times. The only thing that I personally refuse to do is to take advantage of someone just to get their property. If they are forced to sale( for whatever reason) and I am interested, I try to work out an equitable agreement. Life is too precious to be overcome by greed when you are only going to be here for a short time anyway. Soul, I must ask you a question. Have you ever been to Key West? It is not all that it is stacked up to be. Quite honestly, I drove for a whole day(after passing Miami) just to get there. I spent the night ($340.00 for a room), woke up and had breakfast, drove around for about 1 hour (Key West is relatively small) and drove all day getting away from there. It is not an appealing place to live! At least, not to me.
Hawaii, maybe. I went over there after one of the hurricanes that struck back in the 80s. We were off on one of the smaller islands and it was nice, but? If those type of places appeal to you, perhaps you might want to look at Costa Rica or maybe the Caymans or over along the Pacific Rim. I married a wonderful person in the Philippines and we have two homes over there. Prices are very reasonable and it is tropical with some wonderful amenities. Anyway, there it is. I hope that it helps you Soul as you seem to have a wide array of questions coming forth. Ask away though. If I can help, I am very happy to do so. I do hope that you will find all that you are seeking in life. It makes it worth while if you are enjoying what you are doing. Be a little wary though. Sometimes things are not always as they appear. Maybe after reading most all of Dean Koontz novels,”I might be getting a little perky!” Just kidding about that. Life is what you make of it so grab hold and go for the ride!
