Planning Your Hawaiian Vacation

There’s nothing better than a Hawaii vacation, packed with lots of fun, to equip you for the year ahead. Hawaii’s exceptional beaches are just what the doctor ordered to wash away the dusty cobwebs since your last holiday break, and a Hawaiian vacation will recharge your batteries and get you ready to face the world again.

Among the best things about Hawaii is that the temperature is always mild. Even in the summer season, the tradewinds will generally provide a cooling breeze and there are numerous beaches and sparkling blue ocean for a swim. During the winter months, the temperatures remain warm enough for surfing and enjoying the water. Actually, in the winter, the waves are often bigger providing some of the best times for surfing.

When planning a family vacation to Hawaii, you may choose to visit one island or make plans to visit other islands.

You’ll almost certainly travel to Oahu on any vacation to Hawaii, as it is the hub for almost all flights to and from the Islands. However, the island does have a great deal to offer you, and Oahu is the foremost vacation destination containing Waikiki Beach and Honolulu, the Hawaii state capital. Here you will also find Pearl Harbor. One of many famous points of interest is the memorial in honor of the USS Arizona, displaying many items pertaining to the 1941 attack.

Kauai is found to the north of Oahu. Kauai is, geologically, the oldest of all of the Hawaii Islands. There’s much natural beauty to experience on the island. Also, there are many different opportunities for charming getaways and outdoor recreation.

South of Oahu is Molokai which enjoys a significant population of indigenous Hawaiian people. You will find many events on the island which are connected to the local Polynesian customs and history.

To get a much slower pace, explore Lanai. This island doesn’t have stop lights and is less crowded than the other islands. Lanai is a perfect place for privacy and romance. For golfers, there are a couple of very good golf courses located here.

The second biggest island in Hawaii is Maui. Some of the best beaches in the world are located here. Maui offers excellent opportunities to observe the humpback whales which traverse through these waters every winter season.

The Big Island is actually much larger than the combined area of all the other Islands in Hawaii. In the Big Island you’ll find eleven of the planet’s thirteen climatic zones. You will also have opportunity to see an active volcano as well as black sand beaches and snow covered mountains.

Hawaiian cruises are a way to visit each of the islands. A seven-day voyage will provide you with just about a day and a half on each of the islands along with fabulous cuisine and sleeping onboard the ship. Most of these cruises will begin and end in Honolulu and include entertainment as you journey between islands.

However, should you want to sleep on land, then there’s a wide choice of resorts and Hawaii condos for you to select from. These are priced reasonably and are found throughout the Islands.
